I’VE LOADED PICTURES SEVERAL TIMES AND THEY HAVE DISAPPEARED. I HAVE LOADED A PDF OF MY LIST SEVERAL TIMES AND IT HAS DISAPPEARED. LINKING A BATTLE TO MY OPPONENT’S REPORT IS IMPOSSIBLE. ENTERING THESE REPORTS IS NO LONGER FUN.
Excerpt from the memoir of Colonel Johann Falkenberg
I thought setting up a defense in bocage country would be relatively easy. I was sadly mistaken. The bocage broke up lines of site, making it difficult to site weapons and to provide mutual support, yet there were enough open lanes that the American tanks, tank destroyers, and armored cars could dart around the field from one hedgerow to the next.
There is not much to describe of the fight. Even though my reserve arrived in a timely manner and my Pak 40s and Panzer IVs knocked out quite a few Shermans, and even though my infantry and artillery eventually chewed up a lot of American infantry, my positions were eventually swarmed. Practically my entire command was destroyed.
